Besides their transport function, paper carrier bags have another important task: They are an important advertising vehicle for raising the profile of business names, brands, slogans and products on the street. Scientists at the University of Kiel have recently published a study on the topic of carrier bags and their promotional effectiveness. There were some very positive conclusions: Over half of those questioned stated they have looked at a printed bag being carried by a passer-by and could also remember its appearance later on. In contrast with television and print advertising, advertising on paper bags is harder to simply ignore – it can’t be fast-forwarded or skipped over. Use advertising space on paper bags as moving posters and give your marketing message legs.
